Veronika Robinson Independent Celebrant
Honouring and Affirming Life’s Special Moments with Personalised Ceremonies
(I am based near Penrith, Cumbria, and am able to officiate ceremonies within a 100-mile radius)
I am available to officiate weddings, handfastings, renewal of vows, same-sex unions, namings, blessingways, funerals, memorials, peaceful divorce, and other rites of passage, such as menarche and menopause.
As an independent celebrant, I am not restricted by religion, customs, time or place. We can include anything of importance to you, whether that is religious, spiritual, holistic, humorous, symbolic or other. I am able to offer you a vast selection of readings and poems to choose from, or you may provide your own.
“You could say the stars were in alignment!! We were first drawn to Veronika by her own story, her life experiences, and beliefs. After speaking to Veronika on Skype we knew it was only going to be her!
Veronika made planning our wedding from overseas a breeze! She was flexible and very patient, and helped create a personal wedding that was unique to us. It was a beautiful ceremony that exceeded our expectations. She spoke about our own journey and our love. It was genuine and full of humour, and so many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!
Veronika is one of the most sincere and inspiring people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She exudes happiness, and it’s so obvious that she is passionate about bringing people together. Her love of what she does is clear for all to see. Veronika is a true storyteller.”

I practise discrimination-free celebrancy.
This means that I will not discriminate (or associate with those who discriminate) against you on the grounds of religion or other beliefs, disability, mental health, race, culture, gender, gender reassignment, age, marital or parental status. I honour the right of each human being to celebrate their life.
You have my assurance that I will accord you the respect you deserve. This assurance is across the board in my work as a celebrant, celebrant trainer and as editor of The Celebrant magazine.
~ Veronika Robinson
Extract from The Blessingway
The celebrant is not the centre of attention in any ceremony. Her job is to link the various elements and themes and lead the witnesses/congregation through the ceremony. Her role is to seamlessly create a sacred space. She uses craft, pace and heart, and is there to ‘hold’ the energy and provide a safe container for what may emerge. This is a role of leadership, but ego needs to be left behind. A good leader leads without people realising they’re following. Her job is to offer structure—like the spine—to the ceremony. It is important that she sets her intention, and that she asks herself “What does this ceremony mean?”
For as long as I can remember, I have loved words, and anything that carries a sense of the sacred. As a celebrant, I combine two of my great loves to bring you a ceremony to cherish. I have a deep understanding of the power of words as medicine, and the importance of symbols as a way of understanding and expressing human archetypes and myths.
I will write, create and deliver a ceremony unique to you and your celebration. I have a background in journalism and public speaking, and am skilled at listening to people’s stories and writing them clearly.
I trained as a celebrant at Unity Church, Auckland, New Zealand in the early 1990s. I’ve been officiating ceremonies for more than twenty years, and greet each one as a unique celebration. No two are ever the same. The ceremonies I write are based on what is important to you, so they can include religious, spiritual or secular elements.

“Veronika Robinson has been a celebrant at three very important junctions in our lives. Our children’s naming back in 2002, our wedding in 2003, and my father’s funeral in 2015.
We have so much trust in her genuine desire to honour our feelings and ideas around each ceremony, and her professionalism and gentleness in carrying it out. She has a deep heartfelt respect of our own personal vision of how the day will unfold, and carries it out with a constant grace.
In Veronika we have total trust that everything will go to plan through her honesty, attention to detail, and incredible organisation.
Each ceremony has been grounded by her energy, yet lifted by her innate spiritual light that is channelled to each of us throughout the events of the day. Veronika’s heart emits such love for humanity.
We feel so lucky to have found a celebrant who genuinely gifts her families with an understanding, warmth and the security of knowing all will be well. All our needs have been met with care, compassion and always an angelic smile.”
Our special unique words of love and our commitment to a lifetime together was carefully and beautifully pulled together with the skilful professional writing skills of Veronika, making this a real celebration of our love for each other.
Our little girl’s naming ceremony included dancing girls, and the threading of beads with a wish from all our friends and family as they were carefully threading on one by one.
Veronika created a personal and beautiful ceremony for us making our day unique and memorable, involving all our community of friends and family.
Our friends still say to us that this was the best and happiest wedding they have ever been to!”
